WHAT’S UP AT HARBORSIDE?

Week of March 9: Flooring Projects to be completed on the third floor hall and the first floor slate.

Week of March 16:

1. Rehabilitation to the exterior of the building begins. We plan to start with the front and move on from there. Weather permitting, we plan to complete the project around April 18-April 25, 2020. Following the completion, the muralist will repaint our ICE HOUSE AND STORAGE POLAR BEARS.

2. Termite inspection scheduled for March 19.

Week of March 23

1. Building Rehabilitation continues. Expect disruptions in the assigned parking as scaffolding will be necessary, we will try to keep disruptions to a minimum.

2. Creative Management will be sending Announcement Letters to kick off the transition of our accounting services from Rapp Management to Creative Management. HOA Dues payment instructions will be explained in the letter.

1. Building Rehabilitation continues—BUT—weather permitting, it should be done by mid month, give or take a few days.

2. Parking in the lot will continue to be an issue, Thanks for your patience.

3. Work has begun on Harborside Drive. We’ve again discovered deteriorated brick that had to be removed and replaced with new.

Week of April 13

1. A few rain days, unexpected repairs, and coronavirus concerns have caused a bit of delay, but crews are working diligently to complete the building as soon as humanly possible.

2. Muralist to begin repainting the mural on the front of the building on Monday Morning.

3. No worries, Harborside 2019 Tax Return has been filed. Thank you Rapp Management for your help.

4. Three or four electricity interruptions are expected Tuesday April 21, through Thursday April 23, 2020. These interruptions should last about 4 hours each, and are necessary for safety reasons when workmen are working on the alley side of the building. The first two interruptions will occur from 8:00 to noon on Tuesday April 21 and Wednesday April 22.

Week of April 27:

1. We should have no big disruptions this week, but if weather holds out, the building should be completed by Thursday.

2. We will send notices out in the next week or so for a special meeting of the Owners as well as a meeting of the Board for Memorial Weekend, Covid allowing. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the work done and to vote on a special assessment/HOA dues package, to replenish our operating and reserve account.

WEEK OF JUNE 1: Sunday, June 7—Board Meetings and Owner Meeting scheduled on the premises beginning at 10:30 a.m. Notices were sent to all Owners May 7, 2020, with backup materials. The Board will follow up with Zoom or Conference Call instructions. And we will provide proxies for those of you that cannot make it. Masks are suggested.

August 13, 2020: We will be having a Board Meeting at 10:00 a.m. in Darrell’s conference room. All Owners are welcome to attend in person or by conference call. Masks should be worn if attending in person. Hand sanitizer will be available.

December 1, 2020: We have installed mounting clips along the the top of our building on Moody Avenue and the Strand side. Christmas lights are being installed. The lights will be maintained and rotated to different colors by season (Mardi Gras, Independence Day, Christmas), all in conformity with the lights up and down the Strand. After the initial set up costs, future costs for the rotation, and maintenance of the lights, and clips will be paid by the Parks Department and no costs will be paid by the Association.

December 6, 2020: We will be having a Board Meeting at 11:00 a.m. in Darrell’s conference room. All Owner’s are welcome to attend in person or by conference call. Masks should be worn if attending in person. Hand sanitizer will be available.

January 10, 2021: We will be having the Annual Meeting of the Owners at 11:00 a.m. in Darrell’s Conference Room. All Owners are encouraged to attend. Elections for all three Board seats will be held toward the end of the Meeting. There will then be a short organizational Meeting of the new Board which everyone is welcome to attend as well. Masks should be worn if attending in person. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Nominations for the Board Membership are open from December 14, 2020 to January 4, 2021, but you may nominate an Owner during the Meeting on January 10, 2021. Any Owner may also submit agenda items for the meeting. For nominations or agenda items, email Dan at dandjmccarty@gmail.com.
